Platform technology for organic waste streams
Four proven processes form the foundation – flexibly combinable and economically scalable.
Process 01
Hydrothermal Carbonization (HTC)
TerraNova®ultra
At 180–200 °C and 20–35 bar, moist biomass is carbonized into hydrochar within a few hours – without prior drying. The hydrochar is suitable as a fuel, soil amendment or for carbon sequestration.
Process 02
Thermal Hydrolysis (THP)
TerraNova®lysis
Multi-hour pre-treatment at 160–170 °C breaks down organic structures and increases the biomethane potential of organic material by up to 35%. Processes material with up to 30% dry solids – compact and energy-efficient.
Process 03
Phosphorus Recovery
Patented TerraNova® process
Phosphorus is recovered in decentralised installations from sewage sludge – without prior incineration, with a recovery rate of up to 70%. The product complies with German and European fertiliser regulations.
Process 04
Nitrogen Separation & Recovery
Integrated solution
Ammonia stripping of the process water enables nitrogen recovery as commercially available ammonium sulphate fertiliser – more energy-efficient than the Haber-Bosch process and directly integrable into the TerraNova process.
